Alma, Wisconsin is beautiful in early Spring with migrating birds along the Mississippi Flyway, events throughout town, and our shops waking up from a Winter break.  late winter as you enjoy the season  Alma offers you a place to get away for a short stay in a scenic winter environment!  We're just a short drive from many Midwest cities.  Enjoy our National Historic District and beautiful historic river town with all of the beauty of spring as you step into historyr.

WE LOVE SPRING in Alma, Wisconsin!  Bald eagle's are congregating along the Mississippi River in preparation for their return to Canada and our local eagles are sitting on nests.  The Mississippi Flyway is busy with Spring migration.  You'll find great views, you can still hike up Buena Vista Trail.. BIRD WATCHING is great in Alma, Wisconsin.   Throughout the month of May, Alma celebrates bird & waterfowl migration along the Mississippi Flyway by "Going To The Birds".  The Great River Birding Festival is May 12th and supports World Migratory Bird Day.  Wings Over Alma Nature & Art Center offers a great outdoor or indoor viewing opportunity of migration activity on the Mississippi River below Lock & Dam #4..
FISHING FROM THE FLOAT, A DOCK OR A BOAT  So much water, so many opportunities to satisfy the angler's need to fish. 

Many Mississippi River backwater spots are available as well as the Great Alma Fishing Float.  You will need a Wisconsin fishing license.  If you are on the Fishing Float a Minnesota fishing license is valid. Open March through October 31st!
HIKING A TRAIL  Mossy Hollow Trail or Buena Vista Trail are great City trails and offer great views and lots of bird watching.  You won't be disappointed.  Look for warblers when you hike Mossy Hollow.
