Is history your thing?  The Burlington Hotel  has served the traveling public since 1891 as a "railroad" hotel to service the Burlington Railroad's customers & workers. Located directly across from the Alma train station, it offered sleeping rooms for travelers.

THE BURLINGTON HOTEL

The station is gone but the railroad hotel still stands. Two rooms were recently renovated preserving the original footprint. They are authentic railroad hotel sleeping rooms both in size & amenities and offer a wonderful step back in time!.

ALMA offers many options for lodging & rentals ...bed & breakfast ... restored Victorians ... cottages ... roadside motels & cabins ... extended stays ... bunks on the Fishing Float.  

 

For overnight lodging info, call the CHAMBER Visitor Center at 608-685-3303 or choose an option from our website.  Traveling along the Wisconsin Great River Road you may find that lodging accommodations are often sparse outside of the cities in the small river towns.  Alma is the exception, offering a variety of lodging options.  Several in restored buildings within the National Historic District and two motels on the outskirts of town on the Mississippi River.

There may be a time when you need to stay in Alma for an extended period of time and there are residential rental options available where you can rent an apartment for a period of 30 or more days.  A short-term rental lease is required.

 

NOTE:  Make your reservations early, these rooms go fast ... especially on the weekends!
