MONDOVI was laid out as a village in 1855.  Located on the Buffalo River it is home to the Buffalo County Fair, held the first weekend in August.  The Buffalo River State Trail runs from Mondovi to Fairchild WI.

Mondovi is the eastern gateway to Buffalo County with access from Interstate 94.  Exit State Highway 37 at Eau Claire WI and head towards Mondovi.  If you continue to follow State Highway 37 from Mondovi you'll find the Mississippi River and historic Alma, Wisconsin.

US Highway 10 passes right through the center of Mondovi.  It's an east-west United Sates highway that was formed in 1926 as one of the original long-haul highways.  It begins in Bay City, Michigan and today ends in West Fargo, North Dakota.  It's a beautiful drive that travels the northern part of Buffalo County, Wisconsin.

Mondovi is also headquarters of Marten Transport, started in 1946 by 17-year old Roger Marten who delivered milk and other dairy products from a local creamery. Today Marten Transport has an international presence in North America with 15 operation centers and thousands of employees.  The Roger Marten Community Center is an important resource to the citizens of Mondovi.
